Neck Pain
Neckaches are nearly
as common as lower back pain. They more commonly affect people who spend a lot
of time seated. They are often associated with stress and commonly cause
headaches also.
Neckache may also be
caused by a traumatic event such as a road traffic accident or fall, long
periods seated or periods of looking at a slightly awkward angle such as when
doing jigsaws, needlework or watching a screen. Another factor may be poor
posture where the head is slightly forward creating extra tension on the neck
muscles.
The good news is
that these problems are generally easily improved with osteopathic treatment
and suitable exercise.
